The Ministerial launch and showcase for this Government initiative had to create understanding, a sense of excitement and buy-in for Parent Know How services; and to persuade delegates to then promote them locally and encourage parental uptake.
The audience (400) included local authorities, Commissioners of Parenting Skills, Directors of Children’s Services, and 3rd sector bodies.
To counter ‘conference fatigue’ in the audience a compelling reason to attend was required. We positioned the event as a high impact ‘live’ TV studio launch, hosted by the news corespondent George Alagiah – more a current affairs show than a government conference. A ‘marketplace’ of web, mobile and telephone channel ‘zones’ was designed to encouraged networking.
