The Jigsaw

Produced by Straker Films
Aims & Objectives:
To warn young children about the risks of posting their personal details online for everyone to see. In the virtual world, many children feel they are ‘safe’ and can’t be touched – but by ‘lowering their guard’, they put themselves at risk. The film challenges this complacency, offering practical tips on how to stay safe.

Intended Audience:
The film was launched on Safer Internet Day 2009 and shown to 8-10 year olds in Primary schools throughout the UK. It is now available on www.thinkuknow.co.uk and http://www.teachertube.com. Although the DVD was accompanied with supporting notes and other learning resources to assist teachers with follow-up activities if they wished, the film was designed to be ‘stand alone’ without the need for teacher support to deliver it.

A very clear message delivered well. Good use of interviews combined with well-scripted drama. Motivational and informative and pitched at the right level for the audience.
